Before I start the review, I would like to tell you that I have been using this sponge for more than 6 months and I have just bought the second one! It does mean that this product is REALLY good. From all variants of the sponge, I use the one with charcoal, Water Drop Bamboo Charcoal Facial Sponge. I chose it because it’s the one that suits my skin’s needs.
Let’s get started!
PRICE AND WHERE TO BUY
For a sponge, I can say it’s a bit pricey. The official price is IDR 79,000. You can buy this product in its official website www.mykonjacsponge.com and also in some online shops, such as Zalora and Lazada. If you don’t like online shopping, you can find this product in some supermarkets around Jakarta, like Ranch Market, Kem Chicks, and The Children’s Store. For other areas, just visit the website and you will find the list of places to buy it.
I bought my first sponge in Papaya Store, Bandung since it was really hard to find it in Jakarta (most stores were out of stock at that time). I did my second purchase online at Lazada (it’s a recommended online shop ^.^).
The sponge comes with a simple yet catchy package. Since charcoal colour’s black, so the package is also in black and white combination. On the front side, you can see the sponge through the package, and at the back side it’s got information about it and how to use it.

TEXTURE AND SHAPE
What can I say about the texture? I LOVE IT! It’s soft and squashy. I definitely spend more time massaging my face with this sponge, paying extra attention on some parts like my T-area. ^.^
If you look at the sponge carefully, it’s got tiny pores which hold the water and at the same time gently exfoliate you skin. You can also add a bit of your favourite facial foam to give extra cleaning effect on your skin. I, personally, prefer cleansing my face with facial foam first and then use the sponge after. Believe it or not, I feel my skin is bouncy and moist.
The shape of this sponge is water drop. I like the shape because it can reach difficult area, for example the side of your nose, your chin, and temples. Using the the pointy side, you can give extra pressure to your face which needs extra cleaning.
USE AND CARE
I took this from the official website….
What you need to pay attention is where to put your sponge. The best one is to hang it at a ventilated place so it can dry naturally.
About sterilisation, I never try the microwave to do it. I’m just afraid I will burn my sponge! What I do is to soak it in a hot water for 1-2 minutes and I do it every 2 weeks. It works well on my sponge. With this care, my first sponge could last up to 4 months. It didn’t break but the texture changed a bit rough. That’s my signal to buy the new one.
|please ignore my bare face! Just look at the sponge…|
Despite the price, I do love this product. I have no complaint for this product. It really gives me a better, healthy skin. After using the sponge for about 6 months, my skin has improved a lot. Maybe you wont’t notice the difference in the first month of using it, but later on, you can feel that your skin care creams are well-absorbed, your make up stays longer on your face, and it also makes your face less oily. Those are the result I get from this sponge.
- Gives you a soft and smooth skin.
- Works well to prevent blackheads and acnes.
- Less oily face
- My make up stays longer after using it.
- A bit pricey (IDR 79,000), but it’s worth the money.
- Only available in some stores.
Will I repurchase? YAP! I will buy my third konjac sponge if the one I’m using now is broken. As I told you, it’s worth the money.
